:: scary shit

"awww.. i love it!" and "violence is cool" comments on deviations of kids stabbing each other is just... disturbing. last i checked, that stuff merited a WTF comment. sure the execution is cool, but it's pretty hard to get past the content. come on - it's two cute young characters. stabbing each other. repeatedly.



seriously, da. not cool.

hi guys i'm on term break so i got the chance to update a bit. i don't have a lot of finished personal work at the moment. i tried to really concentrate on school work this term so i didn't get the chance to paint much or even browse art.

i did, however, manage to drop by manila comic con and saw a few of the greats at work i pretty much just stayed with my friends because i'm not very good at approaching other people. BUT.. i couldn't pass up the chance to meet the charming peter parker. my friends & i might drop by komikon, if schedules permit.. we like taking pictures with the cosplayers and toys

anyway, i hope everyone is doing well and still working hard to improve!

i just want to bump off the previous journal, it's collecting dust already.

school is finally out for summer, which apparently got lost on the way to the philippines so instead we've got rain. lots and lots of it. the weather is CRAZY. i don't mind staying at home though, since i really just want to chill with my friends and recuperate from the last term which was taxing.

as always, i am struggling to improve my work. i have a few more pieces to finish up before vacation ends. but for now, i want to slow down and indulge in guilt-free addictive gaming.

i'm looking forward to the next term, as my boyfriend will finally start studying in the same art school i attend! i'm happy that he'll finally get to pursue the course he always wanted. i will also be attending cg overdrive in singapore with schoolmates this june, so that's another plus.

i hope everyone is enjoying vacation despite the wet weather!

~bustercloud tagged me, and it's as good an excuse as any to bump off my previous journal.

8 random facts:

1 - i began drawing just before 4th yr high.

2 - i can read and write arabic, but my vocabulary is very limited. wait.. did i say limited? i meant virtually non-existent.

3 - i kick my boyfriend's ass in guitar hero 3. unfortunately, my bragging rights expire when my kuya *ahbeejieh lays down the law on metallica's one. damn him.

4 - lifelike dolls scare the living shit out of me. child's play traumatized me as a child.

5 - my friends started calling me "annetukin" in college.. i used to sleep a lot during the afternoon so they thought i was a sleepyhead. but the truth is, i usually worked through the night and sometimes even through the morning because i had to grab every chance to study art - squeezing it between school work, house chores and parties, of course. every workaholic needs a good dose of alcohol every now and then right?

6 - i can't cook. back in highschool, i almost set the smoke alarm off by frying nuggets. that's right people. CHICKEN FRIGGIN NUGGETS. (i was playing fatal frame 2 with friends and we forgot)

7 - i don't like expectations.. it's too tempting to do the exact opposite.

8 - at this point in my life, i can honestly say i'm happy.
